The TECO IE5/GB1 explosion-proof motor series (model TEB5) is a squirrel-cage induction motor engineered for high efficiency and safe operation in explosive gas environments. The motor frame uses high-grade cast iron with excellent explosion-proof performance. End brackets are made of robust cast iron, while the fan cover is constructed from SPCC steel. The external fan uses non-sparking conductive polypropylene or aluminum material to enhance operational safety. The shaft is made of high-strength carbon steel with keyways and reliable connection design. Bearings in 180M–355L frames use high-quality vacuum-degassed open types or pre-greased shielded bearings for extended service life.
Stator windings use heavy-duty polyester enameled copper wire with Class F insulation system and phenolic alkyd resin varnish treatment. The rotor is an integrally cast squirrel-cage aluminum structure with stable performance. The motor is finished with a rust-proof phenolic base coat and light gray top coat, suitable for long-term use in harsh industrial environments.
Performance & Operating Specifications
The motor supports variable torque control from 5–50Hz, constant torque from 25–50Hz, and constant power from 50–60Hz. Special power output rules apply for 2-pole motors above 45kW and 4-pole motors above 200kW. It can operate continuously under S1 duty with a service factor of 1.0. Ambient temperature range is -20°C to 50°C, relative humidity ≤90% non-condensing, and altitude up to 1000 meters.
All units undergo strict testing in accordance with GB 3836.1, GB 3836.2 and GB/T 1032 standard procedures. Winding temperature rise is controlled within 80K under resistance method testing. The motor meets T4 temperature code requirements for both sinusoidal and inverter power supplies, and passes overspeed and over-torque tests for guaranteed reliability.
